The Russian pipe producer TMK Group (TMK) has announced the beginning of line pipe shipments to the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).

Accordingly, during the month of September 2008, TMK delivered to CNPC over 5,000 mt of 406 mm outer diameter line pipe with wall thicknesses of 12.5, 14.2 and 16 mm. The pipes, designed for CNPC's Longgang gas field in Sichuan Province, were manufactured by TMK's subsidiary Volzhsky Pipe Plant.

In 2009, TMK expects to increase its deliveries of oil and gas pipes used in the development and production stages of CNPC's field.

The Longgang gas field project includes the development of 13 wells, the construction of three gas gathering stations and the laying of over 300 km of gas transmission lines.
