The Russian pipe producer TMK Group (TMK) has announced that its subsidiary Volzhsky Pipe Plant (VTZ) has successfully commissioned a new casing finishing line.

The new line, with a capacity of 200,000 mt of casing pipes per year, is part of TMK's strategic investment program for the period up to 2012.

Within the framework of the program, TMK plans to install at VTZ's seamless facilities a new heat treatment line with an annual capacity of 340,000 mt, and a production line with integrated phosphatizing for casing couplings.

Moreover, TMK also intends to upgrade VTZ's hot rolling equipment, so as to allow the use of round billets, in this way increasing its capacity to 720,000 mt per year.
