Russia-based TMK, one of the world's leading oil and gas steel pipe producers, has announced that it has signed an agreement for a research and development cooperation program for 2014-2016 with Lukoil, Russia's second-largest oil company, providing for the launch of import-substituting and new types of high-performance tubular products that would meet the current needs of the oil and gas sector.

The program maps out three key areas for TMK-Lukoil cooperation - casing, tubing and line pipe production. It also offers an action plan including testing, research, presentations, workshops and technical support.
