TKS to equip new silicon-metal plant in Kazakhstan

Silicium Kazakhstan LLP has awarded ThyssenKrupp Mannex GmbH, a subsidiary of the German steelmaker ThyssenKrupp (TKS), with a contract for the supply of plant and technical equipment for its new silicon-metal plant. The order is worth more than Euro 60 million. ThyssenKrupp Mannex GmbH is expected to complete all deliveries by the end of the current year. The plant is expected to be put into operation in 2008. In addition, ThyseenKrupp Mannex GmbH will take over global marketing of the new plant's entire production of silicon metal upon the completion of the new plant.
