TK Stainless to build annealing line at Mexinox plant

ThyssenKrupp Stainless (TKS) has announced that it plans to build the first bright annealing line for stainless steel flat products at its Mexinox plant in Mexico. The start of operation is planned for the first quarter of 2006. The planned bright annealing line will have a capacity of 70'000 tons per year and the TK Mexinox mill plans to produce 6'000 tons of sheet strip per year in bright-annealed finishes, partly replacing cold-rolled strip in conventional finishes. The line will supplement three existing cold rolling mills and three annealing/pickling lines. The new line will increase the mill's cold rolled capacity from 215'000 to 250'000 tons per year.
