TISCO plans April price hike

Indian steel producer Tata Iron and Steel Corporation (TISCO) reportedly plans to hike its prices as of April 1, 2005. Company officials indicated that the prices will be raised due to firmer international steel prices and the rising cost of iron ore and coking coal. Major Indian steel producers Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), Essar Steel, Jindal Iron & Steel Company (JISCO) and Ispat Industries all increased their prices as of January 1, 2005. TISCO on the other hand announced that it would wait until at least March before increasing prices.
