Ohio, US-based manufacturing company Timken Company and Chinese company Xiangtan Electric Manufacturing Co, Ltd's joint venture Timken-XEMC in Xiangtan, Hunan province, China, has recently begun delivering its initial production of ultra-large bore bearings to XEMC Windpower Co., Ltd.

Announcing the development, a Timken statement also said that Timken® double-row tapered roller bearings subject to the delivery have an outer diameter of approximately two meters.

"This is Timken's latest strategic investment in Asia. The new facility was built in nearly record time to provide the ultra-large bore bearings needed to serve China's wind-turbine demands," Timken pointed out.

Construction of the facility started in January 2009.
