Specialty steel producer, the Timken Company, announced Monday that its Timken Latrobe Steel subsidiary will increase prices for re-melted aerospace alloys by 3 to 7 percent. The price increase, effective July 1, is necessary to make up for rising operational costs, Timken Latrobe president Hans J. Sack told customers in a press release. Timken Latrobe Steel, headquartered in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, specializes in the production of fasteners and rocket booster casings for space shuttles.
