Tiantie begins production at 1,750 mm HRC line

SteelOrbis Shanghai On July 22, Tianjin Tiantie Metallurgical Group successfully commenced production operations at its new 1,750 mm HRC line. With a production capacity of three million mt, product specifications are in a range of 1.2-16 mm in thickness and 700-1,600 mm in width. Headquartered in Tianjin, the production department of this steel group is located in Hebei Shexian. With its main products including steel strip and rebar, this mill's annual capacity has reached 3.5 million mt of pig iron, 3.5 million mt of crude steel, and 2.57 million mt of finished steel. Total assets stand at RMB 17.1 billion ($2.3 billion). The producer's output for the first half of 2007 amounted to 1.52 million mt of pig iron, 1.58 million mt of crude steel, and 960,000 mt of finished steel.
