US-based iron casting company ThyssenKrupp Waupaca Inc. has stated that it is reopening its Etowah, Tennessee foundry early next year, creating 250 jobs.

The facility has been idle since January 2010 as a result of a significant downturn in the North American automotive and truck markets and decreasing orders.

As the order volume is continuing to increase, returning to pre-crisis levels in 2010, the company decided to reopen the foundry.

ThyssenKrupp Waupaca will produce products for the passenger car and light truck, material handling, agriculture, construction, hydraulic and commercial vehicle markets.
