On August 30, German steelmaker ThyssenKrupp announced that its subsidiary ThyssenKrupp Nirosta will concentrate its stainless steel service center operations into a single unit from the start of the new fiscal year on October 1, 2010.
Following the completion of the process, in addition to the Nirosta Service Center (NSC) based in Wilnsdorf, EBOR Edelstahl GmbH and smb Chromstahl GmbH in Langenhagen will also operate under the name of ThyssenKrupp Nirosta. The company said that a resolution on this has now been passed by its supervisory board.
"With this step we can make it clearer to our customers that the service centers are extended workbenches of our production plants," said Karsten Lork, head of sales at ThyssenKrupp Nirosta.
