Throughput at Russian seaports up 12.2 percent in January

In January this year, Russian seaports handled 52.9 million mt of cargo, up 12.2 percent year on year, according to data from the Association of Commercial Sea Ports of Russia.

In the given month, transshipment of coal climbed by 13.8 percent to 9.6 million mt, while transshipment of ferrous metal increased by 10.2 percent to 2.3 million mt, both compared to January 2014.

In January of the current year, transshipment of scrap declined by 5.9 percent to 0.3 million mt, while transshipment of ore decreased by 42.7 percent to 0.3 million mt, both year on year.
