Third Bosphorus Bridge construction requires 104,500 mt of steel

SteelOrbis has learnt that the construction of the Third Bosphorus Bridge which will be 2,200 meters long will require 37,000 mt of rebar, 14,000 mt of main cables, 8,500 mt of stiffening cables and 45,000 mt of steel girders.
 
Partial tenders have been opened for the supply of the steel materials to be used in the construction of the bridge.
 
As SteelOrbis previously reported, the construction of the third bridge was awarded to an Italo-Turkish consortium formed by Italian general contractor Astaldi and Turkey's Ictas.
