Thailand launches safeguard investigation against non alloy HR flat steel imports

According to Turkish Steel Exporters' Association, Thailand government launched a safeguard investigation effective of January 30, 2014, regarding the imports of non alloy hot rolled steel flat products, ranging between 0.9 mm and 50 mm in thickness and ranging between 600 and  3.048 mm in width.

The investigation in question was launched upon the application by the domestic industry including Thailand-based steel producers Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Company Limited, G Steel Public Company Limited, G J Steel Public Company Limited and Sahaviriya Plate Mill Public Company Limited, according to a World Trade Organization (WTO) statement.

The products subject to the safeguard investigation fall under Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 7208.36, 7208.37, 7208.38, 7208.39, 7208.51, 7208.52, 7208.53 and 7208.54.
