TEUs slump 17.6 percent at Port of Long Beach in November

The Port of Long Beach reported Friday, December 16, that the port handled 459,881 twenty-foot equivalent container units (TEUs) in November, a 17.6 percent decline from the 558,308 TEU's in November 2010. The drop represents the fifth straight month of declines in container traffic at the port.

Both imports and exports registered double-digit drops, falling 15.6 percent and 22.2 percent, respectively, last month. Imports are down 3.3 percent and exports are down 3.1 percent compared to the first 11 months of 2010 as well.
