Brazil-based LLX Logistica SA, which is currently in the process of developing the new industrial Acu port complex in Brazil, announced Friday that steelmaker Ternium SA is likely to receive licensing to build a 7.5 million metric ton slab mill at the port complex in September.

So far, in the last four years LLX has invested about R$1.8 billion (US$1.11 billion) to build the port, which will  have steel and iron ore operations, oil industry storage and processing facilities, a possible auto factory, as well as other import and export services when completed. The Acu port is slated to begin operations in late 2012.
