The Italian equipment producer Tenova has announced that it has won modernization orders from three different countries, namely Italy, Indonesia and Russia.

As regards Italian order, Canada-based Tenova Goodfellow, a subsidiary of Tenova has completed installation works of its EFSOP® process control system in June 2007 on TenarisDalmine's 100 mt EAF in Italy. The system is based on real time measurement of furnace off-gas at fourth hole. At Dalmine, the system dynamically controlled the injection of methane, oxygen and carbon powder through the 6 KT lances and the three conventional burners. The system assures that the energy efficiency is maximized throughout the entire melting and refining process.

On the other hand, Tenova's other subsidiaries Tenova LOI Italimpianti and Tenova Pomini, has won an important new order to modernize the PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) hot rolling mill in Indonesia.

Under the scope of order, Tenova Pomini will provide the customer with a new roll grinder, revamp the grinder currently in use and also install a roll shop management system for automated management and statistical processing of production data. Meanwhile, Tenova LOI Italimpianti Genoa will revamp a walking beam furnace and a pusher furnace to boost production capacity to 300mt per hour, reduce consumption and upgrade the automation system.

The project will be implemented in cooperation with SMS Demag and expected to be completed by the end of 2009 for Reheating Furnace and by the end of 2010 for grinding machines.

Last, but not the least, Tenova TAKRAF has been recently awarded the contract by Russia's Krutrade for the stage IV of Ust-Luga coal terminal expansion. The new contract is covering supply, transportation and erection supervision of one stacker with tripper car, one reclaimer and several conveyors. The commissioning of the fourth expansion-stage is expected in 24 months. Following the terminal expansion, Ust-Luga's annual handling capacity will exceed 15 million mt.
