TenarisTamsa announced an investment of US$350 million in the next year for research and technology development, as well as additional employee training.

Guillermo F. Vogel, Vice President of the Board of Directors of the company, also said the company expects to increase local sales up to 70 percent, thanks to the energy reform driven by the federal government.

TenarisTamsa is one of the world's largest manufacturers of steel pipes for the energy industry, and according to Vogel, with Round One bidding for exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons and the arrival of foreign companies to invest Mexico’s energy sector, TenarisTamsa will be consolidated as the main supplier of pipe for various uses such as exploration and production in deep waters.

Currently, 60 percent of production is for export (US, Canada, Brazil, the Middle East), however, TenarisTamsa will provide for the national market place about 200,000 additional tons.
