Mexican tube and pipe producer Tenaris Tamsa resumed its operations late Tuesday at its Veracruz plant after a strike initiated last Friday. The reopening follows a resolution from the country’s Secretariat of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS).

Pascual Lagunes Ochoa, the leader of the company’s affiliated union, was detained by police, following violent protests in March that killed two people and left another 11 wounded. Ochoa’s detention led Tenaris Tamsa to halt its production.

Earlier this week, a Tenaris Tamsa executive told Mexican media the company could miss production targets as well as the supply of products to clients if the strike continued.

Tubos de Acero de México (Tamsa) is Mexico’s sole producer of seamless steel pipe products.
