Belgium-based plantmaker CMI Industry has announced that it has received the final acceptance certificate from India-headquartered steel giant Tata Steel for the new hot skin pass mill installed at its Jamshedpur site, after the successful start of production.

The hot rolled skin pass mill with a rolling force of up to 1,200 mt, is rated for an annual output of 300,000 mt of hot rolled coils, coming directly from the pickling line, with maximum weight of 30 mt, maximum strip width of 1,650 mm and thickness of 4.5 mm. The new mill will help Tata Steel to guarantee the highest possible product quality by providing the required mechanical properties and surface texture, as well as uniform elongation, while improving flatness and harmonizing yield points.
