Tata Steel sees 13 percent rise in crude steel output in February

On March 6, Indian steelmaker Tata Steel announced that in February it witnessed a 13 percent rise year on year in its crude steel output to 527,000 mt.

Meanwhile, the company stated that, during the month in question, the company's hot metal production rose by 13.5 percent to 587,000 mt, while its saleable steel output amounted to 500,000 mt, increasing by 0.4 percent, both compared to February 2009.

The company's cumulative steel sales of 5.54 million mt up to the end of February in the current fiscal year (ends March 31) indicate growth of 22 percent over the corresponding period of the last fiscal year.
