Tangshan increases focus on steel processing

In 2014, the city of Tangshan in China's Hebei Province planned to invest RMB 68.35 billion ($10.92 billion) in 107 steel deep-processing projects in 2014, while the completed investments in these projects in the given year amounted to RMB 32.08 billion ($5.12 billion) in value, as reported by Hebei Daily on March 18.

In 2014, the deep-processing projects in question consumed 16.80 million mt of steel, accounting for 20.1 percent of Tangshan's crude steel output, up 5.6 percentage points compared to the share consumed in the previous year.
