In the current year up to December 28, Shanxi Province-based Chinese steelmaker Taiyuan Iron and Steel Co. produced 3 million mt of
stainless steel, achieving its
production target for 2011 ahead of schedule, as reported by
China Metallurgical News.
As recently reported by SteelOrbis, in the first 11 months of the current year Taiyuan Steel's
stainless steel flat product exports reached 192,966 mt, down 20.86 percent year on year. Taiyuan Steel,
China's largest
stainless steel producer, exports to destinations including the United States, Germany, France, UK, Japan, South Korea and Australia.
