Taiwan’s steel export value down 6.3 percent in September

According to the statistics released by the Taiwanese Ministry of Finance, in September this year Taiwan's export value of iron and steel articles made from iron and steel amounted to $1.4 billion, falling by 6.3 percent compared to the same month of 2012 and down 3.4 percent compared to August. In September, Taiwan's import value of iron and steel and articles made from iron and steel was $915.9 million, up 18 percent from August and falling 11.8 percent compared to September 2012.
 
In the first nine months of this year, Taiwan's export value of iron and steel and articles made from iron and steel decreased by 4.3 percent year on year, amounting to $13 billion. Meanwhile, in the given period Taiwan's import value for the products in question decreased by 10.7 percent year on year to $9.52 billion.
