Taiwan's iron and steel export value up 5.5% in H1

In June this year, the value of Taiwan's iron and steel exports increased by 17.1 percent year on year and by 5.9 percent compared to May to $1.62 billion, according to the preliminary statistics issued by Taiwan's Ministry of Finance. In the given month, the country's iron and steel import value totaled $1.16 billion, up 26.6 percent year on year and increasing by 24.4 percent month on month.
 
In the first half of this year, the value of Taiwan's iron and steel exports was up 5.5 percent to $9.17 billion, while the value of the country's imports of iron and steel totaled $5.79 billion, down 1.5 percent, both on year-on year basis.
