Taiwan's iron and steel export value down 17.1 percent in 2015

In December last year, the value of Taiwan's iron and steel exports decreased by 21.8 percent year on year to $1.16 billion, according to the preliminary statistics issued by Taiwan's Ministry of Finance. In the given month, the country's iron and steel import value totaled $546 million, down 40 percent year on year. 
 
In 2015, the value of Taiwan's iron and steel exports declined 17.1 percent to $15.2 billion, while the value of the country's imports of iron and steel totaled $8.59 billion, decreasing by 27.3 percent, both on year-on year basis.
