Taiwan's industrial
production index in February this year increased by seven percent as compared to February 2013 and was down 12.77 percent month on month, according to the country's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). Meanwhile,
Taiwan's seasonally adjusted industrial
production index in February increased by 4.12 percent compared to the same month of 2013.
In the first two months of this year,
Taiwan's seasonally adjusted industrial
production index increased by 2.10 percent year on year.
In February of the current year, industrial output in the country's basic metal manufacturing increased by 5.56 percent and output of metal product manufacturing increased by 12 percent, both compared with February 2013. In addition, on month-on-month basis, in February this year the basic metal manufacturing sector saw a decrease of 6.42 percent in output and the metal product manufacturing sector saw an output decrease of 12.42 percent. In the first two months of this year, a 1.13 percent year-on-year increase was recorded in
Taiwan's basic metal manufacturing output, while the fabricated metal product output index indicated an increase of 0.51 percent, both year on year.
Meanwhile, in February this year,
production in
Taiwan's machinery and equipment industry increased by 13.91 percent, output in the automotive industry increased by 19.32 percent, while
production in the Taiwanese construction sector decreased by 24.67 percent, all year on year.
