Taiwan's industrial production index in October this year increased by 2.1 percent compared to September and was up 3.7 percent year on year, according to the country's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). Meanwhile, Taiwan's seasonally adjusted industrial production index in October increased 1.6 percent compared to the previous month, while rising by 5.2 percent year on year.
In the January-October period of this year, Taiwan's seasonally adjusted industrial production index increased by 0.2 percent year on year.
In October this year, industrial output in the country's basic metal manufacturing sector rose by 15 percent and output of metal product manufacturing saw an increase of 6.7 percent, both compared to the previous month. In addition, on year-on-year basis, in October this year output of the basic metal manufacturing sector grew by 16.4 percent and the metal product manufacturing sector saw an increase of 1.4 percent in output.
Meanwhile, in October this year, production in Taiwan's machinery and equipment industry fell by 2.6 percent, while output in the automotive industry was down by 4.9 percent, both year on year.
