Taiwan’s basic metal export value up 13.3 percent in February

According to the statistics released by the Taiwan Ministry of Finance, in February this year Taiwan's export value of iron and steel and articles made from iron and steel amounted to $1.42 billion, increasing by 13.3 percent compared to the same month of 2011.
In the first two months of this year, Taiwan's export value of iron and steel and articles made from iron and steel increased 1.9 percent over the same period last year, amounting to $2.9 billion. Meanwhile, in the first two months of 2012 Taiwan's import value for the products in question decreased by 16.9 percent compared to the same period of last year to $1.95 billion.
