Taiwan's basic metal export orders up 6.2 percent in March

In March this year, Taiwan's basic metal and basic metal product export orders amounted to $2.47 billion, up 17.9 percent compared to February and increasing by 6.2 percent compared to March 2013, according to Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs. The country's basic metal and basic metal product export orders had decreased by 4.5 percent and increased by 10.6 percent in January and February this year respectively, both on year-on-year basis.
 
On the other hand, the country's basic metal and basic metal product export orders in the first three months of the current year amounted to a value of $6.92 billion, rising by 3.5 percent on year-on-year basis.
