Taiwan’s basic metal export orders down nine percent in Q1

According to the statistics released by the Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs, in March this year Taiwan's basic metal and basic metal product export orders amounted to $1.9 billion, stable compared to the previous month and down 12.7 percent compared to March 2012. The country's basic metal and basic metal product export orders were down 23.3 percent and rose by 11.5 percent in February and January respectively, both on year-on-year basis.

The country's basic metal and basic metal product export orders in the first quarter of the current year amounted to a value of $6.7 billion, falling by nine percent compared to the same period of 2012.
