Taiwan’s basic metal export orders down five percent in May

According to the statistics released by the Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs, in May this year Taiwan's basic metal and basic metal product export orders amounted to $2.3 billion, up 2.5 percent compared to the previous month and falling five percent compared to May 2012. The country's basic metal and basic metal product export orders were down 23.3 percent and by nine percent in April and March respectively, both on year-on-year basis.
 
The country's basic metal and basic metal product export orders in the first five months of the current year amounted to a value of $11.3 billion, falling by 8.2 percent compared to the same period of 2012.
