Taiwan's basic metal export orders down 3.7 percent in May from Apr

In May this year, Taiwan's basic metal and basic metal product export orders amounted to $2.42 billion, down 3.7 percent compared to April and increasing by 4.7 percent compared to May 2013, according to Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs. The country's basic metal and basic metal product export orders had increased by 6.2 percent and by 1.7 percent in April and March this year respectively, both on year-on-year basis.
 
On the other hand, the country's basic metal and basic metal product export orders in the first five months of the current year amounted to a value of $11.86 billion, rising by 5.3 percent on year-on-year basis.
