Taiwan’s Ministry of Finance (MOF) imposed antidumping (AD) duties over carbon steel plate imports from Brazil and five other countries, local media reported.

The duties, ranging from 4.02 percent to 80.5 percent, will last for five years and are retroactive to August 22, 2016. The other countries named in the ruling are China, India, Indonesia, South Korea and Ukraine.

Taiwan’s MOF and Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) concluded an investigation into complaints about dumped plate imports earlier this year, determining the practices have caused harm to Taiwan’s steel industry, according to the report.

The AD duty decision was reached after the MOEA found there is no evidence that the measure will impact the country's economic interests.
