In Sweden, industrial production increased by 0.3 percent in March this year compared to the previous month and rose by 3.8 percent year on year in working day-adjusted figures, according to Statistics Sweden (SCB).
On the other hand, the production index for the Swedish basic metal industry increased by 7.4 percent in March compared to the previous month, while rising by 5.4 percent year on year. In the given month, the country's manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, increased by 2.1 percent month on month and was up by 6.6 percent year on year.
In March, new orders received by Swedish industry rose by 2.3 percent month on month, while they increased by 13.4 percent in working day-adjusted figures compared to March 2016.
In March, new orders for basic metals in Sweden increased by 2.7 percent compared to the same month of 2016, including a 4.6 percent increase in domestic orders and an 8.7 percent rise in export orders, while new orders for basic metals were down by 14.3 percent compared to February. Meanwhile, new orders received by the Swedish fabricated metal products industry, except machinery and equipment, increased by 49 percent in March on year-on-year basis.
