In Sweden, industrial production increased by 5.7 percent in November last year compared to October and rose by 3.5 percent year on year in working day-adjusted figures, according to Statistics Sweden (SCB). The SCB said that within the industry sub-sectors the electronics industry and the petroleum industry in particular stood out with large increases in output on month-on-month basis.
On month-on-month basis, new orders for Swedish industry registered an increase of 2.9 percent in November last year, while new orders in the given month decreased by 1.4 percent in working day-adjusted figures compared to November 2012.
On the other hand, the production index for the Swedish basic metal industry decreased by 0.2 percent in November last year compared to the previous month, while rising by 4.3 percent year on year. In the month in question, the country's manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment output, increased by 1.3 month on month and decreased by 1.6 percent compared to November 2012.
On the other hand, in November last year new orders for basic metals in Sweden increased 6.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. Meanwhile, new orders for the Swedish fabricated metal products industry, except machinery and equipment, decreased by 7.5 percent in November on year-on-year basis.
