Suifen Port sees jump in iron ore import
The railway and highway port of Suifen in northeastern China's Heilongjiang province handled more imported iron ore this past August than it had in the whole of 2004. Total iron ore import at Suifen Port was 24'000 tons in 2004, while that of August 2005 alone reached 40'000 tons. By the end of August, overall goods imports and exports at Suifen Port reached 5.08 million tons, up 23.6% year on year. Within this figure, the imports reached 4.6 million tons while the exports reached 494'245 tons. Surging throughput via railway has been a major factor in the increasing import and export at Suifen Port.Suifen Port sees jump in iron ore import
