Steelmakers in Hebei see 19.9 percent rise in gross profit in Jan-Apr

In the first four months of the current year, steelmakers in China's Hebei Province achieved an overall operating revenue of RMB 327.415 billion ($52.81 billion), down 6.79 percent year on year, accounting for 24.86 percent of overall industrial operating revenue in Hebei Province in the given period, according to the Hebei Metallurgical Industry Association. Meanwhile, steelmakers in Hebei recorded an aggregate gross profit of RMB 2.655 billion ($0.43 billion) in the given period, up 19.86 percent year on year, accounting for 4.74 percent of the aggregate gross profit of overall industry in Hebei Province.

In the January-April period this year, Hebei Province produced 63.267 million mt of pig iron, 67.172 million mt of crude steel and 81.21 million mt of finished steel, respectively increasing by 1.76 percent, 0.88 percent and 4.52 percent year on year.
