Steelmakers in Hebei Province see 28.6% rise in gross profit in 2014

In 2014, steelmakers in China's Hebei Province achieved an overall operating revenue of RMB 1.119402 trillion ($182.6 billion), down 3.17 percent year on year, according to the Hebei provincial government. Meanwhile, steelmakers in Hebei recorded an aggregate gross profit of RMB 20.984 billion ($3.4 billion) in the given year, up 28.60 percent year on year, while the gross profit per one metric ton of steel produced was only RMB 113.24 ($18.5), with a gross profit to sales ratio of 1.87 percent, lower than average gross profit to sales ratio of 4.04 percent in overall Chinese industry in 2014.
