Steel imports damage Pakistan market

Around 25 casting plants were closed in Pakistan due to the cheaper steel imports that caused injury to domestic steel producers. 7 plants in Islamabad, 15 in Lahore, 2 in Gojranwala and 1 in Karachi were reportedly closed down in Pakistan. Imports for steel structure and steel billets in large quantities damaged the domestic industry.
