The total value of steel exports from the Chinese province of Hunan in the first five months of the current year amounted to $603 million, decreasing by 2.79 percent year on year and accounting for 13.55 percent of the overall exports of the province, according to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOC).

The global economic slowdown and reduced competitiveness of exported products were among the factors which contributed to the decrease in question.
