SSINA releases 2005 specialty steels data
According to a report from the the Specialty Steel Industry of
North America (SSINA), YTD statistics for October 2005 show that in the first ten months of 2005,
stainless steel imports were up 5 percent from the same period in 2004, and imports of specialty steel were up 8 percent from the same period the previous year.
The report also displayed YTD US
consumption data for the ten month period ended October 2005, which showed a 7 percent decrease from the same period the previous year for
stainless steel products, and a 4 percent decrease for specialty products.
The report did not list month-on-month data.
