Spain’s motor vehicle output up one percent in Jan-Oct

In October this year, total motor vehicle production in Spain decreased by 5.6 percent to 192,993 units, including 146,901 passenger cars, down 9.1 percent, both compared to October 2010, according to the data reported by the Spanish Automobile and Truck Manufacturers' Association (ANFAC). In the industrial vehicle segment, a year-on-year increase of 6.8 percent was recorded in output in October.

In the first 10 months of this year, Spain's total motor vehicle output amounted to 2,034,961 units, rising by 0.9 percent year on year. In the January-October period, the passenger car segment recorded a decline of 2.5 percent year on year in output, totaling 1,584,105 units.

In October, 91.7 percent of total Spanish motor vehicle production was exported, while motor vehicle exports in the first 10 months of this year grew by 5.2 percent year on year to 1,830,054 units.
