Spain’s motor vehicle output rises further in May

In May this year, Spain's total motor vehicle output amounted to 217,007 units, rising by 8.7 percent year on year, following the 20 percent year-on-year increase recorded in April, according to the data reported by the Spanish Automobile and Truck Manufacturers' Association (ANFAC). The association noted that exports are still the main source of support for the increase in output volumes. Meanwhile, in the first five months of the year Spain's total motor vehicle output amounted to 959,824 units, rising by 4.45 percent year on year.

In the given month, the Spanish passenger car segment recorded an increase of 9.15 percent year on year in output, totaling 175,888 units. In the January-May period, the passenger car segment recorded an increase of 6.9 percent year on year in output, totaling 768,479 units.
 
In the month of May, the country's motor vehicle export volumes trended upward, increasing 8.4 percent year on year to 186,487 units. In the first five months of the year, Spanish motor vehicle exports increased 5.88 percent year on year to 828,008 units.
