Spain’s industrial price index up 3.8 percent in September

Spain's industrial price index in September increased by 3.8 percent year on year, down 0.3 percentage points compared to the year-on-year rise recorded in the previous month, according to the Spanish national statistics office (INE). The index declined by 0.1 percent on month-on-month basis.

In particular, the year-on-year increase in Spain's industrial price index for September included a rise of 0.8 percent for capital goods, 1.3 percent for intermediate goods, 1.2 percent for durable consumer goods, 2.8 percent for non-durable consumer goods and 9.8 percent for energy.

During September, the industrial price index in the field of manufacture of basic metals was at 129.8 points, down 0.2 percent month-on-month and down five percent year on year. Meanwhile, the price index of manufacture of fabricated metal products (except machinery and equipment) hit 119.8 points, increasing 0.1 percent month on month and rising by 0.5 percent year on year.
