Southern Kuzbass Coal starts production at new longwall

Southern Kuzbass Coal Company, a subsidiary of the Russian mining and steel producing group Mechel, has announced the launch of production operations at longwall 0-5-2-13 (east) at its mine named after Lenin. Industrial reserves of coking coal at the new longwall are about 330,000 mt. Each month it is planned to take around 65,000 mt of coal from the mining face. The length of the longwall is 150 meters, while the extraction pillar size is 400 meters. Investments in the launch have reached Ruble 115 million ($4.2 million).
