Southern Chinese mills raise plate prices
Two major plate rollers in Southern China have increased their ex-factory prices today, on April 10. Guangdong province based Shaoguan Steel increased its plate prices basing on its last adjustment dated April 3. The mill increased common carbon plate, low alloy plate and shipbuilding plate prices RMB 130/mt ($16). Steelmaker's 14-20 mm Q235 medium plate price for the Guangzhou market reached RMB 3,650/mt ($456) including 17 percent VAT and effective from April 10. Meanwhile, Guangxi province based Liuzhou Steel raised its common carbon plate prices by RMB 70/mt ($9) over its last price adjustment dated April 6. Its 8 mm Q235 medium plate ex-factory price reached RMB 4,320/mt ($539), and that of 14-28 mm Q235 medium plate reached RMB 3,910/mt ($488) including 17 percent VAT and effective from April 10.
