SMS to supply 130 ton twin ladle furnace for SAIL’s Bokaro steel plant

Germany-based plantmaker SMS Group has announced that Indian state-owned steelmaker Steel Authority of India’s (SAIL) Bokaro Steel Plant, located in Bokaro Steel City in the Indian state of Jharkhand, has ordered a 130 ton twin ladle furnace from SMS Group. Commissioning of the equipment is scheduled for the summer of 2018
 
With this order, Bokaro Steel is the first company of SAIL Group in India to install a twin ladle furnace from SMS group.
 
Bokaro Steel Plant produces flat products like hot rolled coils, hot rolled plates and cold rolled coils. 
 
The annual liquid steel capacity of the plant is 4.5 million mt.
