German plantmaker SMS Siemag has announced that it will supply a two-stand compact cold mill (CCM) for Bangladesh-based ABUL KHAIR Strip Processing Ltd. The compact cold mill will have an annual production capacity of 185,000 mt of ultra-thin strips.

With this mill project, ABUL KHAIR is expanding its cold strip production in Chittagong. The new mill will be used to process pickled hot strip in widths of up to 1,250 mm and thicknesses of up to 4.0 mm. The strip will be rolled down to a minimum final thickness smaller than 0.1 mm.

The CCM is a reversing mill made up of two six-high rolling stands arranged in tandem.
