SMS Siemag to modernize continuous caster No. 2 of Salzgitter Flachstahl

Germany-based plantmaker SMS Siemag has announced that it has received an order from German steelmaker Salzgitter Flachstahl for the modernization of the continuous caster No. 2 at its Salzgitter location.
 
SMS Siemag will supply a new ladle turret within the scope of the order and the replacement of turret is scheduled for summer 2013.
 
Meanwhile, SMS Siemag will also supply a new converter vessel for Converter A in the Salzgitter steelmaking plant. The converter volume will increase by approximately 15 percent. The new converter vessel will also be commissioned in summer 2013.
